United Nigeria Airlines Set to Launch Direct Ilorin Flights from December 5

United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has officially confirmed it will begin direct scheduled flights from Lagos (MMA2) and Abuja to General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, starting on 5 December 2025.

In a statement signed by the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, UNA said the new route is a strategic effort to boost domestic mobility, reinforce national integration, and make air travel more accessible for businesspeople, families, and tourists across Nigeria.

Uloka emphasized that the Ilorin route aligns perfectly with the airline’s mission of “flying to unite” — a slogan that captures UNA’s commitment to connecting underserved cities and promoting economic growth.

From the airline’s perspective, launching the Ilorin flights is not just about improving travel options; it also represents a meaningful contribution to the social and economic development of Kwara State. By linking Ilorin more closely with Nigeria’s two major hubs, UNA hopes to stimulate commerce, tourism, and local business activity.

Tickets for the new Ilorin service are already available for purchase via UNA’s official website (flyunitednigeria.com) and through authorized travel agents across the country.

But the Ilorin launch isn’t the only expansion on UNA’s radar. The airline is also rolling out direct flights to Ekiti and Anambra later in December:

  • Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport: direct service from Lagos and Abuja begins 10 December 2025.
  • Chinua Achebe Airport, Anambra: direct flights from Kano (Mallam Aminu Kano Intl Airport) start on 15 December 2025.

For United Nigeria Airlines, these new routes mark a significant scale-up in its domestic network. The airline sees the December expansion as more than business growth  it’s part of a vision to bring opportunity, culture, and commerce closer to Nigerians through stronger connectivity.

As the December launch date draws near, potential travelers to Ilorin, as well as business communities and local stakeholders, are expected to welcome the announcement enthusiastically. With this move, UNA is positioning itself as a major player in Nigeria’s aviation landscape, particularly in terms of linking smaller but strategically important cities to national hubs.
