The National Universities Commission was established in 1962 as an advisory agency in the Cabinet Office. However, in 1974, it became a statutory body and the first Executive Secretary, in the person of Prof. Jibril Aminu, was appointed.

 

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Education (FME). The Commission has a Governing Council; its Executive Secretary is Prof. Yusufu Abdullahi Ribadu FCVSN, who assumed the duty of overseeing the activities of the Commission in December 2024.

 

The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex regulatory agency for university education, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below at its headquarters in Abuja:

 

Job Title: Trainee / Officer I

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Cadre: Officer

 

Job Description

Collecting, collating and analyzing timely and up-to-date data on Nigerian Universities.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in disciplines relevant to the Commission’s mandate or
  • First degree plus at least three years’ post-qualification cognate experience.
  • Application is open to all eligible Nigerian citizens from the ages of 18 to 50 and are required to possess appropriate qualifications, competencies, skills, and orientation.
  • NYSC discharge/exemption certificate, digital skills and computer literacy are required.

 

Salary Grade

CONTISS 8
