Nigerian Defence Academy Application Portal for 78th Regular Course

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, has officially announced the commencement of applications for its 78th Regular Course, inviting qualified and passionate young Nigerians to begin their journey into becoming officers in the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The opening of the application portal marks another opportunity for prospective candidates to join one of the country’s most prestigious military institutions.

Application Portal Now Open

According to the announcement, the online application form is now available on the NDA’s official admissions portal. Interested candidates are required to meet the listed academic, medical, and moral standards before submitting their applications. The academy emphasized that only candidates who meet all eligibility requirements will be shortlisted for the subsequent phases of screening.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the 78th Regular Course, candidates must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens.
  • Be between 17 and 21 years old at the time of entry into the academy.
  • Have a minimum of five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings.
  • Be medically and physically fit according to the Nigerian Armed Forces standards.
  • Present valid identification and academic records during screening.

The NDA also reiterated that married applicants are not eligible, and applicants must not be serving members of the armed forces unless they meet specific service criteria.

Course Benefits and Military Training

Successful candidates will undergo five years of academic and military training, leading to a bachelor’s degree in various disciplines alongside a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, Sub-Lieutenant in the Navy, or Flying Officer in the Air Force.

The academy highlighted that training at the NDA equips cadets with advanced leadership abilities, discipline, and professional military skills needed to serve the country effectively.

Application Procedure

Interested applicants are to:

1. Visit the NDA admission portal.
2. Create an account and complete the online form.
3. Upload required documents.
4. Pay the application fee (as specified on the portal).
5. Print their acknowledgment form and examination slip.

The NDA warned applicants to avoid falling for fraudulent agents or unofficial websites, stressing that the academy does not work with intermediaries.

Screening Test and Selection

The NDA Screening Test (NDAS) will hold at designated centres across the country. Only candidates with valid application slips and meeting all requirements will be allowed to sit for the exam. Shortlisted candidates will later proceed to the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) interview and medical screening.

Public Advisory

The NDA encouraged parents and guardians to guide their children through the application process and ensure they meet the required standards. The academy also reminded applicants that admission into the NDA is highly competitive, and only the best-performing candidates will be accepted.
