Nigerian Soldier’s Emotional Reason for Daily ₦7,000 Withdrawal Touches Hearts
A Nigerian soldier has captured public attention after sharing the deeply emotional reason behind his unusual banking habit — withdrawing just ₦7,000 at a time from his account.
According to the soldier, a bank security guard once questioned his routine, asking why he didn’t simply withdraw all his money at once and avoid frequent visits. His response, however, left many touched.
The soldier explained that his mother’s phone number is linked to his bank account, meaning she receives an alert every time he makes a withdrawal. For him, those alerts are more than transaction notifications they are proof of life.
He revealed that each alert reassures his mother that he is still alive and safe, especially given the dangerous nature of his job. As long as she sees those messages, she knows her son is still breathing.
The story has since gone viral, with many praising the soldier’s thoughtfulness and highlighting the silent sacrifices made by families of security personnel across the country.
